Summer Camps 2017 Program Overview

New!! - Two midget camps have been added this summer

Camp #1 - Tuesday to Friday - August 1st to 7th - 4 day camp, cost $325 plus tax, time 11am - 3pm - Ice daily

Camp #2 - Monday - Friday - August 14th to 18th - 5day camp, cost $355 plus tax, times 10:30am - 2:30pm - Ice daily.

A $150 non refundable deposit and balance is due one month before the camp.

The Coaches:

The Benicky system has been used successfully to develop hockey players at all levels - from Hockey 1 to NHL and all of our trainers at HPC are committed to help athletes to be the best they can be.

Training Components of the Program:

The full day schedule is available upon additional cost.

Skatemill

  • Increasing stride efficiency

  • Improving accelerations (starts)

  • Improving puck handling skills while skating

  • Learning to shoot while in full stride

  • Improving all energy systems used in hockey

  • Learning basic body contact while skating

Athletic Development

  • Increasing core stability and balance

  • Improving coordination

  • Increasing muscular strength

  • Developing skating specific muscles

  • Improving motor programming for hockey specific movements

  • *Goalie specific training (in some camps only)

  • Decreasing chances of injuries

On-Ice

  • Improving individual skills (skating, puck handling, shooting, passing, etc.)

  • Improving on ice conditioning

  • Body contact fundamentals

  • High paced flow drills to improve coordination and awareness while on the ice.

Energy System & Active Recovery

  • Recovery Energy system – Cardio component

  • SAQ (speed, agility & quickness)

  • Anaerobic training (long lactate and short lactate training)

  • Regeneration

  • Prevention of injuries – muscle imbalances

  • Flexibility & proper stretching of the muscles

Psychological

  • Increasing confidence and self esteem
